MG Majestor as Rakan
New Delhi: MG Motor has officially unveiled its most ambitious SUV yet. Launched in Kuwait as the MG Rakan 4×4, this massive machine is the global avatar of the highly anticipated MG Majestor, which is set to hit Indian roads on February 12th.
Positioned as the successor to the MG Gloster, the Majestor is not just a facelift; it is a statement of luxury and off-road dominance designed to take the fight directly to the Toyota Fortuner and Jeep Meridian.
The name “Rakan” is derived from the Arabic word for “Strength” or “Pillar,” and the SUV’s design reflects exactly that. It features a bold, upright stance with a massive rectangular gloss-black grille.
If the exterior is rugged, the interior is pure opulence. The Middle East-spec Rakan gives us a clear look at what the Indian MG Majestor will offer:
The MG Majestor is built on a robust ladder-frame chassis, ensuring it can handle the toughest terrains in India.
| Feature | Specification Details |
| Engine | 2.0-Litre Twin-Turbo Diesel |
| Performance | 215 bhp & 478 Nm Torque (India-Spec) |
| Transmission | 8-Speed Automatic Gearbox |
| Drive System | Advanced 4X4 with Locking Differentials |
| Smart Safety | ADAS Level 2 with Adaptive Cruise Control |
MG is playing a global game with this SUV. While it’s the Rakan in the Middle East, it is known as the Maxus D90 in China and the LDV D90 in other international markets. In India, the Majestor branding is intended to evoke a sense of “Majesty” and “Authority,” targeting the elite SUV buyer.
The wait is almost over. MG Motor India is expected to launch the Majestor with a price tag ranging between ₹40 Lakh and ₹45 Lakh (ex-showroom). With its launch scheduled for February 12, 2026, it is poised to be the most technologically advanced SUV in its price bracket.
The Verdict: The MG Majestor (Rakan) offers a level of interior sophistication that the current segment leaders simply cannot match. For buyers who want a rugged off-roader but refuse to compromise on “S-Class” levels of luxury, the Majestor might just be the perfect fit.
