BYD’s Denza Z9 and Z9GT Confirmed with 1068 km Range and 1140 HP

China’s regulatory filings have revealed significant technical updates for the upcoming Denza Z9 and Z9GT. The latest data showcases major improvements in battery capacity and electric range, alongside high-performance powertrain options that position these vehicles at the top of BYD’s premium lineup.

Battery Capacity and Driving Range

The Denza Z9 and Z9GT will be equipped with two primary battery options: a 102.3 kWh pack and a larger 122.5 kWh pack. These batteries provide different range capabilities based on the model configuration:

  • Denza Z9: The 102.3 kWh battery offers a CLTC range of 905 km. The larger 122.5 kWh battery increases this range to a maximum of 1068 km.
  • Denza Z9GT: With the 102.3 kWh battery, the range varies between 820 km and 880 km. Opting for the 122.5 kWh battery boosts the range to between 1002 km and 1036 km.

Additionally, a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version of the Z9GT is planned, featuring a 63.8 kWh battery that is expected to provide a CLTC pure electric range exceeding 400 km.

Powertrain and Performance

The new models offer diverse motor configurations to balance efficiency and power:

  • Single-Motor Version: Both models will feature a variant with a maximum power output of 370 kW (496 hp).
  • Tri-Motor Version: The high-performance Denza Z9GT features a tri-motor setup delivering a combined output of 850 kW (1140 hp).

Design and Technological Features

The Denza Z9GT maintains the brand’s “Elegant Stance” design language. To improve aerodynamics, the rear of the vehicle includes both an active rear spoiler and a fixed roof spoiler. Inside, the Z9GT offers integrated sports seats and introduces new color options, such as “Lava Red” for the interior and “Fjord Green” for the exterior paint.
