China’s regulatory filings have revealed significant technical updates for the upcoming Denza Z9 and Z9GT. The latest data showcases major improvements in battery capacity and electric range, alongside high-performance powertrain options that position these vehicles at the top of BYD’s premium lineup.
The Denza Z9 and Z9GT will be equipped with two primary battery options: a 102.3 kWh pack and a larger 122.5 kWh pack. These batteries provide different range capabilities based on the model configuration:
Additionally, a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version of the Z9GT is planned, featuring a 63.8 kWh battery that is expected to provide a CLTC pure electric range exceeding 400 km.

The Denza Z9GT maintains the brand’s “Elegant Stance” design language. A notable update is the relocation of the lidar unit to the roof, which now features a “smart driving blue light.” The exterior is further complemented by new 21-inch wheels designed for low rolling resistance and reduced cabin noise.
To improve aerodynamics, the rear of the vehicle includes both an active rear spoiler and a fixed roof spoiler. Inside, the Z9GT offers integrated sports seats and introduces new color options, such as “Lava Red” for the interior and “Fjord Green” for the exterior paint.
